Joia Jefferson Nuri, PCC, is an Executive Leadership and Public Speaking coach who works exclusively with women. Certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Joia uses positive psychology to guide individuals and organizations from their zone of excellence to their zone of genius™, breaking self-imposed limits and unlocking their highest potential. She has helped clients moved from senior executives to CEO and employees to entrepreneurs.

Since launching In The Public Eye Coaching in 2001, Joia has led transformational workshops and senior leadership coaching for Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks, as well as government agencies, start-ups, nonprofits, and public institutions, including Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), Georgetown University,  the Booker T. Washington Child Development Foundation, and the Association Forum, among others.

Joia Jefferson Nuri, PCC has been an inspirational force in both media and corporate leadership since first shattering barriers as one of the first African-American women to serve as Technical Director for CBS Evening News and Face the Nation and one of the first women hired by NBC News as an engineer. After an award-winning career in network news, she spent over a decade shaping human rights communication strategies for global icons like Harry Belafonte and Danny Glover. These experiences gave her a front-row seat to history and a deep understanding of how narratives shape power, influence, and opportunity.

She has crafted compelling congressional testimonies for TransAfrica and personally addressed Congress on the challenges facing children in Haiti. Her expertise extends to writing Ivy League commencement speeches and coaching more than a dozen impactful TEDx Talks—while also delivering her own thought-provoking talk, "A Reimagined Fourth State."

A highly sought-after coach, keynote speaker, and thought leader who contributes to the nationally syndicated show The Price of Business, as well as serving as a columnist for the Daily Mail USA, Nuri's critically acclaimed podcast, Unshackled Leadership: A Lantern for Black Women, now in its third season, champions justice and amplifies often-overlooked voices.

Whether coaching a C-suite executive to navigate change, build strategic confidence, and harness the power of their voice to delivering inspirational keynotes on silencing the inner critic, Nuri continues to guide women through the challenges of leadership, ensuring that women of color are seen, heard, and equipped to lead.

When she's not working, you can find Joia swimming laps, practicing Yin Yoga, or indulging in her not-so-secret weakness—chocolate chip cookies.
